The Dane County Regional Airport has a current opening for a Terminal Facility Worker. Normal Schedule: Swing Shift - Alternating between 4:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and 12:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., rotating, including weekends and holidays.

DEFINITION AND EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Under general supervision on assigned shift, perform duties related to airport landside transportation activities, including curbside traffic enforcement; perform snow removal and grounds maintenance duties; provide customer service to the public; perform minor maintenance; and perform related work as required.
Patrol terminal building curbside to ensure efficient traffic flow and issue citations for parking violations; perform airport security inspections to ensure compliance with federal and Dane County regulations and ordinances; patrol permit parking areas for proper use of permits; perform buildings and grounds maintenance, including cleaning floors, stairways and restrooms; collect trash; remove snow and perform ice control using light trucks, tractors and other riding and walk-behind equipment; replace light fixtures; paint and perform minor repairs to motorized equipment; check malfunctioning parking equipment and make minor adjustments; perform minor maintenance of parking ticket dispensers and gates; wash and perform light maintenance on equipment (trucks and tractors); assist public with answering complaints, questions and concerns; assist with light maintenance projects in parking facilities; perform duties of toll booth attendant as required; perform other duties as required.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Any combination of training and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and experience operating light and medium equipment for snow removal and turf maintenance and performance of minor repairs and maintenance. Experience performing parking enforcement is preferred.
Candidates who reach the final selection stage will be subject to an FBI criminal history records check, TSA security assessment, employment history verification, and a driving record background check. Access to personal transportation and eligibility to hold or possess a valid Wisconsin driver's license. A good driving record of at least three years' duration as evidenced by freedom from multiple or serious traffic violations or accidents.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Knowledge of parking ordinances and regulations. Ability to make repairs to parking equipment and other simple mechanical equipment. Knowledge of the methods, materials and equipment used to perform janitorial cleaning in a large commercial facility. Ability to operate light trucks, tractors, mowers, and other light motorized equipment. Ability to reorganize daily work depending on staffing and/or activity in area to meet customer needs. Must be safety conscious at all times regarding physical activity (lifting and moving objects), and the safety of others (spills, wet floor signs, etc.). Knowledge of what type of chemical is used in certain situations and the proper dilutions. Must be able to work around others and with other employees as a team member. Ability to assess risk of exposure to blood/body fluids in specific cleaning situations and take appropriate precautions. Must have functional reasoning skills and the ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagrammatic form. Must be able to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Mental ability to address potential adverse or negative situations that may arise from time to time. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with members of the public, airport tenants and county employees. Ability to see and hear within normal ranges. Ability to communicate using a two-way radio. Ability to make independent decisions, to follow instructions, to accept constructive criticism and to be able to project a positive image of the facility to customers. Ability to accept responsibility and work with minimal supervision. Must be dependable, reliable and have a previous history of good attendance and punctuality. Must be able to attend staff meetings and training meetings as required. Knowledge of and ability to operate ladders and lifts.
