The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) leads economic development efforts for the state by advancing and maximizing opportunities in Wisconsin for businesses, communities and people to thrive in a globally competitive environment. Working with more than 600 regional and local partners, WEDC develops and delivers solutions representative of a highly responsive and coordinated economic development network.

 

The Administrative Assistant II provides administrative support to senior level staff. Duties are broad, complex, varied and may be confidential in nature. 
This individual will provide a variety of support for various functions and work collaboratively with individuals and teams.

 

The Administrative Assistant II will spend a majority of his/her time in these activities:

  • Conduct research on sensitive issues and prepare special reports, briefing papers, and recommendations to the Executive/Officer regarding department policies, programs, and procedures.

  • Independently respond to questions and inquiries from internal and external sources concerning departmental activities.

  • Authoritatively represent the organization in meetings and contacts with other executives internal and external to the department, departmental committees, and other groups regarding departmental policies, programs, and procedures.

  • Screen and evaluate correspondence and reports, bringing important and urgent matters to the attention of the supervisor.

  • Independently compose, review, approve, edit, and, as needed, sign outgoing correspondence on behalf of the department/division executive.  Handle and/or assist in preparation of board or other presentations and materials for quarterly/annual updates in support of the executive or other team members.

  • Schedule meetings and prepare agendas.

  • Make travel arrangements and coordinate itineraries; coordinate event registration.

  • May perform office management duties, such as personnel, payroll, fiscal, purchasing, space management, facilities management, telecommunications, or training coordination, but such duties would not represent a majority of the time.

  • Other duties as assigned.
